What is the show about?
Channel 4 Dispatches has been running since 1987 and regularly covers controversial and divisive topics. The programme has previously won numerous awards including the British Academy Television Awards and the British Academy Television Craft Awards.
In previous shows, it covered the controversies surrounding ITV's The Jeremy Kyle show with the episode titled 'Jeremy Kyle Show: Death On Daytime' which zoned in on the appalling treatment and lack of care towards some guests and staff.
The Jeremy Kyle Show was cancelled in 2019 after being on air 14 years following the death of guest Steve Dymond, who took his own life after filming an episode where he failed a lie detector test that told his fiancée he had cheated, something he denied.
In August 2013, Channel 4 went against legal threats from ITV when they aired an undercover sting called Celebs, Brands and Fake Fans, allegedly showing soap stars promoting bogus products on social media.
