Emmerdale after an incident on the village’s bridge, which nearly ended in tragedy. The teen, as viewers know, has been struggling over the past few months, opening up to a number of her loved ones about how she’s been feeling angry all the time.
After confiding in Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) about suffering from heavy periods, Cathy sought help from GP Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker), who recommended that she go on the pill to ease her suffering. Bob (Tony Audenshaw) and Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) were worried sick about her, but things seemingly improved in the weeks that followed, with Cathy telling Bob that her feelings of anger and upset had subsided.
Brenda, however, remained concerned, and insisted that Bob, who has been busy with the launch of the B&B, check in with his daughter more often, which he did earlier this week. Cathy, meanwhile, was determined to attend a gig of a band she likes, despite Brenda’s concern, and when Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) gave her the green light, the teen was elated, excited about the big night out.
Friday’s (March 17) edition of the ITV soap saw Cathy, with some assistance from April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan), set in motion a plan that would see the group of teens bunk off school and attend the concert – evading Wendy, who had offered to go along with them as their chaperone. April, however, started to grow concerned about Cathy’s reckless behaviour, as did Heath (Sebastian Dowling) and Marshall Hamston (Max Fletcher), who tried to intervene when they realised she’d nicked a bottle of whiskey for the journey.
