Buckingam Palace drama as e-bike 'bursts into flames' outside gates in terrifying footage

An e-bike has burst into flames outside Buckinham Palace as passers-by looked on in horror. An online video circulating online captured the moment it exploded outside the Royal residence.
Firefighters are seen trying to put out the flames, with emergency services confirming the incident having attended. A road closure around Spur Road in south-west London remains in place as the blaze is tackled.
Video footage has been uploaded on social media, with the clip on Twitter showing clouds of smoke billowing from the bike which was completely engulfed in roaring flames. A police van was also parked across the road stopping traffic.
The Mirror has reached out to the London Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police for comment. The Met police said: "At 12:43hrs on Saturday, 30 March police were informed of a pedicab on fire on Spur Road, SW1. A road closure is in place while London Fire Brigade respond. No injuries were reported. The fire is not believed to be suspicious or deliberate."
The cause of what started the fire is as of yet unknown however police stated they believe it's an unitentional incident according to reports in the Express. One Twitter user said: "An e-bike just exploded outside Buckingham Palace."
It's not the first incident to be reported with the new eco friendly travelling bikes, with one previously bursting into flames in a busy London street in the west end of the city earlier this year.

Back in February two fire engines were sent to deal with the inferno in Shepherds Bush. Nobody was said to be injured in the incident.
