BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans have made a demand after pro dancer Giovanni Pernice penned a sweet message to Amanda Abbington.
It was confirmed on Monday night that the Sherlock actress had withdrawn from the competition, after not taking part in Saturday's live show due to health reasons. Today (Tuesday October 24) Amanda took to Instagram to explain her decision to leave.
Posting a photo of her dancing shoes, she wrote a lengthy caption in which she confirmed her departure with the 'deepest regret'. She cited 'personal reasons' for quitting the show and thanked the Strictly team for looking after her.

After the news was confirmed on Monday night's It Takes Two by presenter Fleur East, Amanda's dance partner Giovanni shared his own tribute on Instagram. Posting a photo of the pair in festive pyjamas with his arm around her waist, he said: "I am so sad we can’t continue but I am proud of what we achieved and I am sending you so much love ♥️ @amanda_abbington74 @bbcstrictly."
Fans flooded the comments with their support for the pair. @jayneshellard said: "Oh! No I’m gutted. Loved you both. Gio is the Halloween King he will be gutted he’s missing it". @slyvialuisa said: "Gutted to be losing you, Gio. Was looking forward to having you back for Halloween! Sending love! X".
