Almost 190 anti-Semitic hate incidents on Jewish people in Greater Manchester have been reported since the Hamas attack on Israel, according to a charity.
Since the massacres on October 7, 188 anti-Semitic incidents have been reported in our region. The Community Security Trust (CST), which works within Jewish communities to offer security advice and support, revealed the disturbing figures yesterday (Friday, November 3).
The CTS said posters of Jewish hostages had been removed or defaced in Manchester, while a user in Manchester posted a sickening message on X - formerly known as Twitter - that 'Jews are not English, deport them all'. The charity said an academic in Manchester also posted on an abusive message towards Jewish people on an online platform.

The charity said a record number of hate incidents on Jewish people have been recorded across the entire country, with at least 1,019 incidents since the Hamas attack. This is the highest ever total reported to CST across a 28-day period since the charity began recording in 1984.
The overall figures include 47 assaults and 102 direct threats. More than 800 reports of abusive behaviour, including verbal abuse, graffiti on non-Jewish property, hate mail and online abuse, were made.
65 of the incidents were related to the school-sector, the charity said, with 24 Jewish children abused on their way into school. In the same period last year, there were 160 anti-Semitic incidents reported, meaning there had been a 537 per cent increase, according to the data.
