Alison Hammond was showered with support from fans as she broke her period of social media silence to reveal she had taken on a 'new job' away from This Morning. The presenter has been quiet on her social media platforms since the daytime show was embroiled in the scandal involving former host Phillip Schofield.
Earlier this month, Alison broke down in tears when she commented for the first time on former co-star Schofield’s first TV interview since he left ITV. The 61-year-old quit the broadcaster, having already left his role on This Morning, after he admitted having an affair with a younger colleague and lying to his employers, co-host Holly Willoughby and his family about it.
As they showed footage from an interview Schofield had done with the BBC's Amol Rajan in which the former TV star spoke about the effect on his mental health, Alison broke down as she said: "I loved Phillip Schofield. It's weird because I still love him. As a family, we're all really struggling to process everything.

“My mum always said use your bible as your sat nav. He without sin cast the first stone. I don't want to say anything bad because I am in conflict." Alison's emotional display then continued as she said: "There is only so much a man can take."
While she has been back on the programme since, Alison has kept a low profile on social media until Thursday (June 15) when she shouted about taking on a new role - albeit temporarily - as part of some advertising work.
