Former England star Alan Shearer said he initially 'felt sorry' for Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund because of his eye-watering transfer fee.
Shearer made the admission after the Denmark international, signed from Atalanta in August for an initial fee of £64million, plundered his 12th and 13th goals of the season in Sunday's 2-1 win over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road. Hojlund struck twice inside the opening seven minutes to score for the sixth Premier League game running.
As a result of scoring his first Premier League brace, he has now scored eight goals in his last eight matches in all competitions. Only against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup third round has he failed to score in a game this calendar year.

Hojlund's impressive run in front of goal has coincided with United recovering key personnel from the treatment room and their overall performance levels increasing. As a result, Shearer has suggested Hojlund's transfer brought an extra weight of pressure, as well as two other factors.
Shearer told Match of the Day: "His all-round game, I thought, today, and has been for a while now, [was excellent]. At times, I felt sorry for him because of his transfer fee, the questions that were being asked and how difficult it has been for him in this United team, at times, when they have not been creating as many chances as they should have been. The one thing that never changed was this guy getting into dangerous positions and not being afraid to miss."
