Jonnie, who shares three young children with his wife Jessica, Rex, three, and twins Rafa and Cormac, two, was sadly diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in 2020 and later revealed that it had spread to his brain. In the TV star's latest post, he shared a panoramic view of the cricket pitch from his “excellent seats” and described the day as “delightful”.The 49 year old penned: “I can’t thank @emiratesot enough for a delightful day at the test, especially Debbie who made everything happen." Jonnie continued: “The hospitality and seats were excellent.
A great days Cricket (if you’re an England fan. Now on the rattler back to The Toon. I’ll sleep well tonight…”.
Fans sent their well wishes to the star as one commented: “God bless you Jonnie, your strength. Your such a fighter, the strength you have, determination your just amazing....and of course the best ever presenter....”, while another said: “So glad you enjoyed your day, lovely. Keep fighting”.

So pleased you were able to witness it. You deserve this”. The former A Place in the Sun presenter was initially given six months to live when first diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, but has outlived doctors' predictions with the help of medication, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
