Tame Impala‘s Kevin Parker performed on crutches with a fractured hip in Mexico City last night (March 10) – watch footage from the gig below.Last week, Parker revealed to fans that he had unknowingly ran a half marathon on a fractured hip but vowed to go ahead with the band’s upcoming shows.The Australian musician and vocalist shared the news of his injury on Instagram, posting a series of pictures of him in hospital along with x-rays which show screws in his bones and post-surgery stitches.“Fractured my hip,” he began the post. “Tried to run a half marathon on what turned out to be an existing stress fracture.

Roy Trakin Depeche Mode, the pioneering ‘80s U.K. technopop band, has long had a strong following in Los Angeles — thanks to their exposure on local alternative stalwart KROQ — and now they’re proving a favorite of film and TV creative executives. The group, consisting of co-founders Martin Gore and vocalist Dave Gahan after the death of keyboardist Andrew Fletcher in May 2022, is on a roll following its 2020 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, where they were introduced by Charlize Theron, who called them “the soundtrack of my life.” Depeche Mode’s new Mute/Columbia Records album, “Memento Mori,” comes out March 24, their first since 2017’s “Spirit” and 15th overall, which will be followed by a year-long tour that launches March 23 in Sacramento and includes a show at L.A.’s Kia Forum on March 28 and four concluding area shows in December, two apiece at Kia and Crypto.com Arena.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Ted Danson and Mike Schur are officially reuniting for a series adaptation of the documentary “The Mole Agent” at Netflix, Variety has learned. The streaming giant has ordered eight episodes of the untitled project after it was originally reported that it was being taken out to market in early February. Per the official logline, Danson will star as Charles, “a retired man who gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a PI and becomes a mole in a secret investigation.” “The Mole Agent” was directed by Chilean filmmaker Maite Alberdi. It originally debuted at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and went on to receive an Oscar nomination for best documentary feature.

The new comedy series reuniting The Good Place creator Mike Schur and star Ted Danson has landed at Netflix with an eight-episode straight-to-series order. As Deadline reported exclusively last month, the project, based on the 2020 Chilean feature documentary The Mole Agent, sparked heated bidding when it hit the premium/streaming marketplace, with Netflix one of the four lead contenders. The untitled comedy, written/executive produced by Schur and starring/executive produced by Denson, hails from Schur’s longtime studio home, Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Lily Moayeri The Guild of Music Supervisors Awards celebrated its 13th annual awards ceremony at L.A.’s Wiltern Theatre Sunday night, with “Everything Everywhere All at Once” continuing its winning streak across awards shows. The film picked up honors for both the Oscar contender “This Is Life” as the best song written and/or recorded for a film and for music supervision for a film budgeted under $25 million. Also scoring top honors were music supervisors or writers for “Elvis,” “Stranger Things,” “Insecure,” ““Battlefield 2042 DLC” and “Saint’s Row V,” among other movies, television shows, video games and ad campaigns. It was a glitzy return for the organization which recognizes and provides extensive support for the unsung music heroes behind the screens for film, television, video games, advertising and trailers. Coming together in-person after the awards were held virtually for the last three years, the cross section of music supervisors, sync agents, publishing company representatives, actors and musicians in attendance brought their A-Game to the red carpet and the three levels of the historic venue, as well as to its expansive stage—and also took advantage of the opportunity to let loose and mingle with their colleagues.

Thania Garcia Lyricist and composer Paul Williams will be honored by the 13th annual Guild of Music Supervisors awards with the 2023 Icon award at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles on March 5. The awards show will also be posthumously honoring former Sony Pictures Entertainment senior VP and music supervisor, Pilar McCurry. Williams’ standards have been recorded by such decorated artists as Ray Charles, David Bowie, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Diana Ross, the Carpenters, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Luther Vandross and Willie Nelson, among others. He’s previously been recognized with six Oscars, nine Grammys, six Golden Globes, and two Emmy nominations.

Pete Doherty performed a section of The Pogues‘ ‘Dirty Old Town’ in Ukrainian on The Last Leg last night (February 24) – see a snippet below.The singer was appearing on the show, hosted by Adam Hills, on the one year anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.To close the show, he performed ‘Dirty Old Town’ solo, incorporating the Ukrainian language into its final chorus.He ended the performance by exclaiming “Slava Ukraini!” which translates as “Glory to Ukraine!”Watch the performance below.A really lovely touch by @petedoherty performing Dirty Old Town in Ukranian.
