BTS’ J-Hope is about to release his dream collaboration with his childhood idol.
The 29-year-old musician, who is one of seven members of Korean phenom BTS, announced on Thursday that his final single before he departs for mandatory military service will feature legendary rapper J. Cole, 38.

The track, titled “On the Street”, will take a trip down memory lane to J-Hope’s roots as a street dancer. The song title itself references the dance show “Hope On The Street”, created by the rapper in 2015, in which he would film himself performing several solo hip-hop dances, sometimes alongside guests.
J-Hope teased the full circle collaboration earlier this week, posting a series of photos of himself with the caption “on the street,” plus a clip from what appears to be an accompanying music video for the track.
J-Hope, whose real name is Jung Ho-seok, has been a longtime fan of J. Cole and even dubbed the “4 Your Eyez Only” rapper as his musical inspiration on a number of occasions. While recently promoting his Disney Plus documentary “j-hope IN THE BOX”, the BTS member shared that J. Cole was the “artist that made me dream of becoming a singer.”
J-Hope even referenced two of the hip-hop artist’s most iconic albums in BTS’ 2014 track “Hip-Hop Phile”, an ode to all the artists who inspired the band.

In the song, J-Hope sings: “Hope hope world, before I built my own world, there was Cole World. Ever since he shone on Friday nights, I got inspiration and wrote my songs.”

VIXX rapper Ravi has admitted to recent charges of attempting evading military service.In January, The Korea Times reported that the 30-year-old idol had been identified by prosecutors as a possible client of a broker known as Mr Gu, who was indicted for helping men receive exemptions from South Korea’s compulsory military service by falsifying health records.Gu reportedly promoted his services by sharing that a famous idol rapper had utilised their service, and consequently received a grade IV in his fitness and health evaluation, allowing him to serve in the social services department instead of becoming an active duty soldier.Back in October 2022, Ravi had announced his enlistment as a social service worker due to unspecified “health reasons”.Following the news reports, Ravi’s self-founded agency GROOVL1N released a statement that it was “closely examining the truth about the situation”, adding that the idol would cooperate fully in the investigation. At the time, neither the agency nor Ravi confirmed or denied the claims of his alleged attempt to evade service.According to Newsis, Ravi admitted to violating South Korea’s Military Service Act at the Seoul Southern District Court on March 6.

The concert was part of the band’s “Music Of The Spheres” world tour, which sold more than six million tickets. The film, “Coldplay – Music Of The Spheres: Live At River Plate,” is the director’s cut of the Oct. 28, 2022 worldwide live broadcast of the show across 81 countries. The new cast members for the followup to Paramount Networks’ “Waco” include: Shea Whigham, who will reprise the role of Mitch Decker, the FBI agent who managed the situation leading up the siege; Annika Marks, who will reprise the role of Kathy Schroeder, one of the surviving Branch Davidians who was also called upon to testify; Alex Breaux, who will play Timothy McVeigh; Michael Cassidy, who will play Bill Johnston, the lead prosecutor in the trial of the Branch Davidians; Gary Cole, who will play Gordon Novel, described as an “intense private investigator;” Nicholas Kolev, who will play Paul Fatta, another one of the Davidians on trial after the Waco siege; Michael Luwoye, who will play Livingstone Fagan, described as “an extremely bright biblical scholar and one of the surviving Branch Davidians on trial;” Kali Rocha, who will play Ruth Riddle, one of the Branch Davidian survivors facing trial and the possibility of life in jail; Michael Vincent Barry, who will play George Roden, one of the early leaders of the Davidian sect; and Sasheer Zamata, who will play Angie Graham, described as “a smart, experienced ATF agent.”

The 29-year-old singer had previously applied for an enlistment postponement but a new statement from Big Hit Music (the band’s label) explains that he has since pulled that request and will enlist in the military. “We would like to inform our fans that j-hope has initiated the military enlistment process by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement,” said the note posted to Weverse, Hybe’s global fan community platform.

Attending the Berlin Film Festival’s European Film Market, Nasi said: “This market has been very good for us because as one of the outfits selected in the company matching program of the Co-Production Market, we have met with a lot of new firms from different countries. At the same time, we’ve been able to advance and confirm our collaboration with past partners.” Quijote Films and El Viaje Films, partners on Theo Court’s “White on White,” which garnered the Venice Horizons Best Director and Fipresci awards and was Chile’s entry to the best international feature film Oscar race last year, are reteaming on Court’s latest film, “Tres noches negras” (“Three Dark Nights”).
