Parents all across the country are being urgently asked to stop using a popular baby formula after the manufacturer was forced to recall it over fears it could cause life threatening illnesses such as Meningitis and Sepsis. Nutramigen baby formula, which is widely used to supplement the diet of infants who suffer from a cow’s milk allergy, has been subject to a recall by manufacturer Reckitt after concerns were raised that it may have been contaminated with Cronobacter sakazakii. The bacteria can cause fever, diarrhoea and in severe cases even death in newborns if it progresses to a more serious illness, with parents advised to stop using the formula immediately if they think they have been affected.
