Hollyoaks viewers were delighted as The Traitors star Maddy Smedley made her debut on the Channel 4 soap. Maddy is making a guest appearance as Faye Fuller, a talent agent hired to work with influencer Rayne Royce (played by Jemma Donovan), however her role left some fans puzzled and some racking their brains to think of where they recognised the blonde beauty from. Emmerdale's Susan Cookson, who plays Wendy Posner in the ITV soap, has revealed that she was "saved" by the show following the death of her husband.The 58 year old has revealed that she was about to give up on her career after her husband, Malcolm Scates, sadly passed away. Susan was about to retire and was on her way to see a nursing manager to find out how to retrain in that profession when she got the call from Emmerdale.The ITV soap offered her the role of Nurse Wendy out of the blue, and it didn't take long for Susan to say yes. She told The Mirror: "I was at a bit of a crossroads in my life through one thing and another and I decided that I wanted a more regular job.

Discussing the offer on Sunday Brunch in 2018, Les said that he wasn't allowed to take part due to an ITV soap "policy". However, he admitted: "I wouldn't mind doing it, I always like a challenge." Taking to social media to celebrate Father’s Day, Jude’s account (which is run by his mum) shared two adorable images of Paul and Jude together as they marked the special occasion, as Jude adorably dubbed his dad “the best.” One of the photos, which featured a sweet throwback to Jude’s early start in life as an adorable baby, was accompanied by the caption: "HFD to all, especially the best @paulrio27 #happyfathersday #thebest.” While a second image revealed Jude alongside his dad and older brother, all dressed smartly in their finest outfits ahead of a glamorous night out.

Derek Thompson, Casualty's longest-serving cast member, has announced that he will be departing the BBC show after 37 years, the BBC has said. The actor, who plays Charlie Fairhead on the popular BBC medical soap, has said of his departure: "The time has come for me to hang up Charlie’s scrubs after the most wonderful 37 years. "Charlie Fairhead was inspired by a real nurse – Pete Salt.Together with the writers and producers, I have tried to bring to Charlie the compassion, kindness, heroism and sound judgement that we all see and love in Pete and I want to say thanks to Pete and everyone else over that time who has inspired me in bringing this character to life." Nurse Charlie has played a key role in a number of the show's storylines and will be departing in a gripping exit storyline later this year.

Coronation Street star Jodie Prenger has revealed that her first day on set as Glenda Shuttleworth left her "sobbing". The actress, who joined the ITV soap in March, spoke to The Daily Star about her experience on the show and recalled her very first day on set in August last year.

Viewers of the BAFTA TV Awards were less than pleased after Casualty was named the winner of the Soap & Continuing Drama category over long-time favourites such as Emmerdale, EastEnders and Coronation Street.The soap category, in general, has been a mixed bag at the award ceremony, with ITV's Corrie walking away with the away last year but not even making the nominations list this year. Britain's Got Talent's Travis George, who recently left the judges shocked with his singing talents, has hit back at claims the show is a "fix." Travis, 22, found himself at the centre of a fix row after fans discovered he had starred in two episodes of BBC medical drama Casualty. According to his IMDb page, Travis has appeared in two episodes of the popular series, one in 2022 and the second earlier this year. Peter was sadly found dead on an Australian beach after drowning in Fremantle, near Perth, Western Australia, on Thursday. The actor had travelled to Perth from London in order to visit his mother, according to local reports, and is believed to have been snorkelling at South Beach in Fremantle when he found himself in danger.

It's believed the actress, who was born in London on 25 April 1932, passed away at her home in France, according to a friend.
