As senior VP of marketing, effective immediately, she will report to AMC’s chairman and CEO Adam Aron and will join the company’s executive committee. She’s taking over for Eliot Hamlisch, who recently departed the company.

Claims include AMC canceling screenings and disrupting showtimes with technical difficulties and broken air conditioning. “Sadly, conspiracy theorists are so prevalent in America. So much garbage information is spread,” Aron wrote on Twitter. “More than ONE MILLION people have watched ‘Sound of Freedom’ at AMC Theatres. More than at any other theatre chain on the planet. Yet people falsely claim otherwise. It is so bizarre.”

With two weeks to go until the big day, AMC Theatres, the world’s largest cinema chain, is reporting that more than 20,000 AMC Stubs members have purchased tickets to see “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” on the same day. Though it was apparently significant enough for AMC to issue a press release, it’s hard to contextualize the statistic because there aren’t a lot of comparable data points for guests purchasing tickets to see multiple movies on the same day, at least not ones that are publicly available. AMC Entertainment will debut its new retail popcorn line at hundreds of Walmart locations on March 11 –  Academy Awards weekend, the company announced this morning.

AMC Theatres announced the upcoming launch of its new supermarket line of microwave and ready-to-eat popcorn, which will be exclusively available at Walmart starting March 11, the day before the Academy Awards. The AMC popcorn will be available in classic butter, extra butter and lightly salted flavors, with microwave boxes being sold at an MSRP of $4.98 and ready-to-eat bags being sold at $3.98.
