Beans on toast is a classic British delicacy enjoyed by many every day.
But there's a chance you've been serving it wrong your whole life if you simply empty the beans out on the toas.
It turns out there's a much more creative way to plate up the tasty dish, as shared by a woman on TikTok, who was astounded when she saw her friend preparing it in the "unusual" fashion.
Not only does it eliminate the mess from carefully balancing the beans on the bread, but it also means you only need a fork to eat it and don't have to cut it up with a knife too.
The Mirror reports that the hack was posted on TikTok by @northernblondeabroad, who had to share the "brilliant" discovery with other social media users as her friend demonstrated it.
In the video, the woman's friend is preparing a plate of beans on toast - but instead of doing it the regular way, she's seen cutting the pieces of buttered toast into small bite-size chunks and placing them in an empty bowl.
The clip is captioned "when you go to your mates house and she's living in the year 3000", and the friend does not appear to realise she's doing anything unusual.
"What is happening here?" the woman recording asks, and her friend replies: "Because then you just need a fork. Everyone does it."
Then, you can either pour the beans into the bowl with the toast and mix it up, or use your fork to dip each bite-sized piece of toast into your beans and eat them that way.
Unfortunately for her, not everyone does cut their toast with scissors, though commenters loved the idea.
Praising the tip, one person wrote: "Nope. But what a brilliant idea!" A second agreed it's a novel idea, writing: "Well I've never seen that." Meanwhile, a third said: "This is the best life hack!!" And someone else
