Coronation Street's Sally Dynevor has shared that she fainted when she found out she had breast cancer, at the same time her character was fighting the disease on the ITV soap. The 60 year old actress thought her doctor was confusing her with her character when she was told about her diagnosis on the same day she filmed the scene where she shared her diagnosis with her on-screen husband.

Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver is taking a break from the ITV soap to star in a hit musical. The 60 year old actress, who has played much-loved Cobbles character Eileen Grimshaw since 2000, has landed a role in the stage version of popular film Sister Act.

Gareth Pierce has played the long running character, Todd Grimshaw in Coronation Street since 2020, and since joining the cast, has seen himself at the centre of multiple storylines. Most recently, the son of veteran character, Eileen Grimshaw, has had strained relations with her partner, George Shuttleworth after the two used to work together at Shuttleworth's funeral parlour. Viewers will know that the tensions were caused by Todd's ambitions as a funeral director - he was nominated for the Young Funeral Director of the Year award - and believed he deserved a pay rise.

Coronation Street actress Sascha Parkinson is engaged to her long-term boyfriend, she has announced.The actress, who played Sian Powers in the ITV soap, took to Instagram on Friday, 13 October, to share the news, alongside a picture of her stunning engagement ring.The 31 year old captioned the post: “I knew you were likely to take a wife! SCREAMING." It looked like she was proposed to on a beautiful yacht, as other pictures showed her hugging her new fiancé, with a sunset in the background.The pair then looked close as Sascha held her hand up to the camera to reveal the gorgeous ring. Barbara Knox has starred in Coronation Street as Rita Tanner for the past 56 years. Ex-Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas has reportedly signed up to appear on the upcoming series of Dancing on Ice.
