A new live-action drama based on the video game franchise Fallout is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video this month. Set 200 years after the apocalypse, it follows the Vault Dwellers who live in luxury fallout shelters as they are forced to return to the real world.
Yellowjackets' Ella Purnell stars as Lucy, an optimistic Vault Dweller whose peaceful and idealistic nature is tested when people harm her loved ones. Aaron Moten plays a young solider with a tragic past while Walton Goggins is The Ghoul, who survives the wasteland as a Bounty Hunter.
Fallout's description reads: "Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind — and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them."

The creators of sci-fi hit WestWorld, husband and wife duo Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, serve as executive producers on the series. Jonathan, who also created the CBS science fiction series Person of Interest and the short-lived sci-fi series The Peripheral on Amazon Prime Video, directs all eight Fallout episodes.
In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, Jonathan said of shooting the series: "It’s... the closest I’ve come to working with comedy in my career. We’re usually a word-perfect production — you have the script, it’s been worked on meticulously, let’s shoot what’s on the page.
"With comedy, you have to be more flexible.
