It’s not long now until the Manchester Christmas Markets return for 2023. Dozens of stalls will be spread out across the city centre selling an array of festive treats from Friday, November 10.
This year more than chalet-style wooden huts will be found across several “zones” across the city’s retail district. The main hub will be found at Piccadilly Gardens, which has been transformed into the “Winter Gardens”.
Clusters of stalls selling handmade gifts, warming drinks including mulled wine and hot chocolate as well as a range of sweet and savoury treats will be found at St Ann’s Square, Exchange Square and King Street. There will also be markets on Exchange Street, New Cathedral Street and Market Street.

The ice rink is back at Cathedral Gardens again, along with several stalls where you can grab a bite to eat. Although spaced out, it’s easy enough to get to all of the markets by foot - perfect if you want to squeeze in some Christmas shopping in the high street shops along the way.
Visitors to the markets can expect the usual festival staples, including juicy sausages and hot mugs of Gluhwein, and of course the famous Yorkshire Pudding wraps. But there’ll also be more unusual snacks such as Korean hot dogs, as well as stalls selling vegetarian and vegan options.
This year the Christmas Markets will be open for around six weeks, closing on Thursday December 21. The food and drink stalls will still continue to trade at Cathedral Gardens until December 31, while the ice rink will be open until January 2.
