"I've always played there [central midfield] from a young age," Foden told TNT Sports. "It's a position that I hope I can move there in the future or maybe this season. We’ll have to see where the manager decides to play me.
"We've got the best players in the world in there like Kevin De Bruyne and when you're playing in the best team in the world sometimes it's hard to get trusted in there. But today I enjoyed it and looked sharp.
"I'm not going to lie it’s difficult [not playing]. Being the person I am, I always want to play. I know the challenge, it's very difficult here.
"The manager spoke to me a few times and said ‘remain patient, you always train very good and work hard so you'll get your opportunity in the future’. Now I'm living up to that and I'm more than happy."
