Manchester City's players are not underestimating the importance of their late win at Sheffield United when it comes to the bigger picture of defending their Premier League title.
City moved two points clear at the top of the table after just three games, becoming the only team with a 100 per cent record at this early stage of the season. That record seemed under threat when Jayden Bogle smashed in an 85th-minute equaliser for Sheffield United, but City used the new rules regarding extra time to come back and find a winner through Rodri's rocket.
With manager Pep Guardiola absent, plus injuries keeping Kevin De Bruyne, Manu Akanji and John Stones away, City are having to battle through the start of their title defence - but are so far passing every test thrown at them.
And defender Ruben Dias believes wins like the one at Bramall Lane will prove crucial at the end of the season when City hope they are in a title race.

“It’s still very early stages for that [talking about the title] but the team that wins the Premier League - it’s a build-up of these small wins and small margins," he said. "We all know it. We’ve been here, we’ve done it. We all know how important it was today.
"We needed a lot of patience - especially to not get frustrated and keep doing what we do best. We kept playing our game and it’s always a special moment in a season when you’re able to go on and look for a second after a tough moment with us conceding a goal. We got it and it’s very important.”
Dias also reflected on playing without manager Pep Guardiola on the sidelines, with the boss recovering from back surgery in Barcelona until after the September
