West Lothian firefighters dropped in to Inveralmond High School this week as part of their efforts to find the next generation of life savers.

Two caring West Lothian women have set up a new to help in the community who are unable to access care packages.
Impressed Home Care is a unique business set up by Donna Davies and Carol Butter when the pair realised there was a great need for people to have a little extra help to enable them to lead a fulfilling, independent life while staying in their own home.
They had been visiting and talking with the older members of the community when they discovered that to successfully receive a care package people would have to meet certain criteria - something which was increasingly difficult to do and so Impressed Home Care was set up.
The ladies help with a range of tasks including light cleaning, changing beds, putting on a wash, playing games, reading, walking dogs, changing batteries, watering plants, writing cards, shopping, sorting cupboards, labelling cupboards, chatting to the service user, collecting library books, prescriptions, emptying hoover bags and light gardening.
Carol said: “The aim of this service is to work with families by offering extra support to their loved ones who were unable to access help from the system and so enabling them to live independently in their own homes.
“The business offers regulated care, and while everyone’s needs are different this enables the staff to offer individual assistance.”
Donna has owned businesses for more than 16 years, Impressed Cleaning and Ironing on the High Street and Impressed Cleaning.
Carol has a social care background and for almost 16 years was a volunteer with Linlithgow Link.
They met through Linlithgow Link, when Donna was raising money for two charities as part of a milestone birthday challenge.
