Researchers at the app spoke to three couples about their love story and how long it took to say those three magic words.
Hannah and James, both 29, met in their biology class when they were just 14-years-old.
The pair have now been together for 15 years, bought a house in 2019 and got married last year.
When asked who said, ‘I love you first’, they both agreed Hannah was the one who dropped the bombshell.
“When she had a crush on me, she wrote it in a letter,” James said. “But once I asked her out on MSN, she said it instantly and the next morning at school she kissed me on the cheek. We said it again before blushing bright red.”
Hannah agreed she said it first online – adding it was just 12 hours after they made it official.
Recalling why they decided to say it, James said it was the ‘most obvious’ thing in the world. Having formed a strong relationship with Hannah, he knew it was the next natural step.
The Leeds-based couple have now shared their best secrets to a long-term relationship. Hannah advises to never go to bed angry or without saying ‘I love you’, whereas James encourages honesty. “Don’t be afraid to say how you feel, and the golden rule, is always communicate,” he added.
