Hear a preview of BTS’ new song for the animated series ‘Bastions’

BTS are set to release a new song for the upcoming South Korean animated series Bastions.Today (April 14), South Korean television network SBS released the opening title sequence for Bastions, featuring an as-yet-untitled song sung by BTS as the show’s theme song.The upcoming BTS song will be their first release as a full group since the release of their anthology album ‘Proof’ in June 2022. Since then, the members of the group have branched out into solo careers.“BTS is expected to provide an overwhelming sense of immersion to the emotions and action scenes of the series by singing the theme song in perfect harmony,” the show’s production company Timos Media said in a statement to Yonhap News Agency.In addition to BTS, K-pop groups and musicians such as LE SSERAFIM, Brave Girls, Heize, AleXa and more will feature on the soundtrack of Bastions.

Jimin’s ‘Like Crazy’ Tops Singles Chart, Becoming His First No. 1 Outside of BTS

Thania Garcia Jimin of BTS has become the first South Korean soloist to lead the singles chart with “Like Crazy” off his debut solo album “Face,” which starts at No. 2 on Billboard’s albums chart. The six-song EP, which incorporates songs in English and Korean, scored the second-biggest opening week for an album this year with the equivalent of 164,000 sales in the U.S., according to data by Luminate. It follows Morgan Wallen’s “One Thing at a Time,” which broke through with half a million units in mid-March and remains at the top of the Billboard 200 for a fourth week on the chart dated April 8. “Face” debuts with 124,000 copies sold as a complete package and nearly 20 million streams. It was preceded by Jimin’s first top 40-charting song as a soloist on the songs list, “Set Me Free, Pt. 2″ (debuted at No. 30). Meanwhile, “Like Crazy” tops this week’s Hot 100 chart, sliding Miley Cyrus’s “Flowers” to a No. 2 slot.

Netflix has unveiled a trailer for its new K-drama series, Doctor Cha.The series will star Our Blues actress Uhm Jung-hwa as full-time housewife Cha Jung-sook, who decides to return to her medical career after a twenty-year break. Meanwhile, her husband Seo In-ho (played by All Of Us Are Dead‘s Kim Byung-chul) is the chief surgeon at the same hospital.The new trailer opens with a shot of Cha waking up in the hospital’s break room as a voiceover asks: “Applying for residency? Why now?” The voice is revealed to be her husband Seo In-ho, as the duo meet in his office.“Why not start with actually bothering to study first?” Preferably somewhere out of the way,” he continues, which Cha replies with: “I refuse.”“Just pretend we don’t know each other at the hospital,” Seo says, followed by chaotic scenes of the duo being at odds as they work together for the first time.Doctor Cha is set to premiere April 15 on Netflix in select regions and will also air on the South Korean cable network JTBC.

Sophia Scorziello editor The Award-winning PBS documentary series “Independent Lens” has released its spring slate of documentary films, which will begin debuting on April 24. This season’s films will highlight a myriad of marginalized communities and current affairs by documenting both personal and important stories from around the world.   First to debut is documentary film “Free Chol Soo Lee” from filmmakers Julie Ha and Eugene Yi. The Sundance favorite uses archival material to travel back to 1970’s San Francisco and tell the story of Chol Soo Lee, a Korean immigrant who was wrongfully convicted of murder, and the Asian American activist movement that sought to free him.

Thania Garcia Emile Mosseri is slated to score the new Amazon original series “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” created by Donald Glover, Hiro Murai and Francesca Sloane. The new show — which is based on Doug Liman’s 2005 film of the same title (scored by John Powell) — will star Glover himself, opposite Maya Erskine, Parker Posey and Wagner Moura. CRAVITY have announced the dates for the North American leg of their upcoming ‘Masterpiece’ world tour.The Starship Entertainment group will start the North American leg of their world tour at Webster Hall in New York on June 16, before heading to Chicago’s Copernicus Center on June 18.
