Bottoms – which stars Rachel Sennott (who also co-wrote the film) and Ayo Edebiri of The Bear – premiered at South by Southwest festival in March, which was followed by a US cinema release in August. The film is the second feature from Shiva Baby writer-director Emma Seligman, which starred Sennott as a bisexual Jewish woman who runs into a sugar daddy while at a shiva with her parents.Bottoms follows two lesbian friends and outcasts who start a fight club in an attempt to lose their virginity to the cheerleaders they have crushes on.However, despite the critical success of Bottoms – scoring 93 and 90 per cent in critic and audience scores on Rotten Tomatoes, respectively – there appears to be no UK theatrical release date at present.“Can we at least get a uk release date for bottoms i’m tireddd,” one X/Twitter user lamented. “Still no UK release date for Bottoms and I swear I’m gonna start rioting,” another said.“Frantically googling ‘bottoms uk release date’ every other date,” a third wrote.

A24 Wants to Make ‘Dicks: The Musical’ a Best Song Contender for Megan Thee Stallion — And It Should Be

Clayton Davis Senior Awards Editor Lyrics that include the words “dick,” “fuck” and “pussy” are not the typical wholesome, family content the Academy’s Music Branch tends to recognize. But occasionally, they have allowed a couple to slip through. A24’s “Dicks: The Musical,” the opening night Midnight Madness at TIFF, has an onslaught of hilarious and catchy tunes that I wish the Oscars would be brave enough to nominate.

‘Dicks: The Musical’ Review: Aaron Jackson & Josh Sharp’s Unforgettably Zany Film Debut – Toronto Film Festival

Flesh-eating sewer monsters, genitals with wings, grave robbing, two confused “identical twins” and 90 minutes of sexual innuendo is what you can expect from comedians Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp’s stage show-turned-movie. Directed by Larry Charles and written by and starring the duo, the film also features Nathan Lane, Megan Mullally, Megan Thee Stallion and Bowen Yang. As a viewer, I often wondered how the hell this got turned into the movie because it is so outrageous. Thankfully, it succeeds at being fun and funny because anything less would have amounted to torture.

‘Hit Man’ Review: Glen Powell Teams With Richard Linklater For A (Sort Of) True Comedy Noir Thriller Romance That Hits The Target – Venice Film Festival

It was 22 years ago that Skip Hollandsworth wrote a Texas Monthly article about Gary Johnson, a school teacher who moonlights as a hit man who doesn’t kill people. Now if that doesn’t sound like the formula for a hit movie, you may understand why it has taken so long for Gary’s story to make it to the silver screen, so long in fact that its subject passed away before he could hit the red carpet of the Venice Film Festival where the film is having its World Premiere tonight. Nevertheless Glen Powell never forgot the story and has teamed with Richard Linklater to finally tell it, but it is only “loosely” based on the article. Certain details in the screenplay co-written by Linklater and Powell are made up, and those are the details that actually help make this a hilarious winner, as well as perhaps Linklater’s most commercial movie since School Of Rock. Its quirky true crime element also has a bit in common with Linklater’s Bernie which starred Jack Black. The director seems drawn to this kind of offbeat tale, with some level of truth to it.
