Variety Lands Three Webby Award Nominations, Including for Best Entertainment Website

Todd Spangler NY Digital Editor The Webby Awards have announced nominations for the 2024 ceremony, recognizing excellence in internet content. Variety landed three Webby nominations, for: best website (in the general websites and mobile sites – entertainment category); 2023 Actors on Actors (in the video series and channels – entertainment category); and “I’m Not a Victim: Pamela Anderson Opens Up About Money, Abuse and the ‘Assholes’ behind Pam & Tommy,’” by Tatiana Siegel, Variety executive editor, film and media (in the websites and mobile sites’ features and design – writing category).
The winners of the 28th Webby Awards will be announced Tuesday, April 23. That will be followed by an awards ceremony at New York City’s Cipriani Wall Street on Monday, May 13, hosted by Amber Ruffin, writer, comedian and “Late Night With Seth Meyers” mainstay.
The Webbys will publish highlights and the hallmark five-word speeches from all the winners on May 13 on Instagram and TikTok. The 28th Webby Awards are overseen by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS), whose members select the nominees.
The awards categories span websites, video, advertising, media and PR, apps and software, social, podcasts, games, and AI, and metaverse and virtual. This year, the Webby Awards received nearly 13,000 entries from all 50 states and more than 70 countries.
The 2024 nominees include Adam Driver, Coco Gauff, Doja Cat, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, Taylor Swift, Jason and Travis Kelce, Kelly Clarkson, Laverne Cox, Madison Tevlin, Megan Thee Stallion, Michelle Obama, Olivia Rodrigo, Paris Hilton, Ryan Gosling, Shannon Sharpe, Sydney Sweeney, Shaun White, Steven He, Timothée Chalamet, Trixie Mattel, Victoria Monét and Michigan Gov.
