Officers have arrested two teenage boys after rocks, cones and tree branches were launched at vehicles on the M56. Greater Manchester Police says missiles were thrown for three consecutive nights this week from Tuesday to Thursday.
It took place at a bridge over the motorway near to junction five at Manchester Airport. Police say some of the objects hit vehicles on the road below the bridge.
Officers have now arrested two boys, aged 15, from Wythenshawe. The pair have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and endangering road users.

In a statement on social media this morning (August 25), a spokesperson for Wythenshawe Police said: "Two boys aged 15 have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and endangering road users. These arrests relate to several incidents over the last three nights where missiles had been thrown from a bridge onto a section of the M56."
North West Motorway Police reported dealing with youths throwing 'cones, bricks and stones' at cars on the stretch of motorway in the early hours of Thursday morning. Officers tweeted at 2.34am yesterday: "An age old question, do parents know where their children are?"
