'Knifeman' arrested after person rushed to hospital following assault

A man has been rushed to hospital following a 'stabbing' on a Bolton street. Greater Manchester Police say officers were called to an assault on Cannon Street, Daubhill, at 5.30am Thursday (September 7).
A knife was reportedly used during the attack. The victim was taken to hospital.
They were still receiving treatment today (Friday) following the incident, GMP said. A 28-year-old man remains in custody after being arrested on suspicion of assault.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. Witnesses are asked to come forward as soon as possible.
A GMP spokesperson said: "Greater Manchester Police are investigating an assault where a knife was used that took place on Cannon Street in Bolton at around 5:30am on Thursday, September 7 2023. Injuries sustained by the victim are believed not to be life-threatening who is still receiving medical treatment.
"A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody for questioning. Anyone with information of the incident that may help officers with their enquiries are asked to call 101 quoting incident 609 of September 7, 2023."
