Teeside Live. Following her diagnosis three years ago, Fiona underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy, which she thought had been successful until 12 weeks after. She then went for a CT scan to be given the heartbreaking news that her cancer had spread to her tongue.
Fiona was then told by doctors last summer that she had six to 12 months to live, and went on to document her journey on TikTok. Prior to her death, Fiona made a bucket list which included seeing Michael Buble live and visiting Blackpool – where she once lived. Further gushing about her daughter, Jan went on to say: “You know when you have a big birthday cake and someone hides in it and they pop out and surprise you - every time she walked into a room that is what it was like.
She was the most thoughtful, caring person. ”She added that Fiona had “a heart of gold” as Jan labelled her as her “best friend”. Knowing her death was imminent, Fiona left a Mother’s Day gift for her mum, as well as a birthday card for dad’s birthday in July.
Fiona also planned her own funeral and requested that her hair was cut so her locks could be donated to the Little Princess Trust. She’d been fundraising for the charity prior to her death. You can donate towards Fiona’s GoFundMe page here.
Fiona is the second TikTok star to have passed away in recent days after 30 year old Jehene Thomas died unexpectedly on Friday, 17 March. Jehene had suffered with migraines and “bouts of illness” before her untimely death and had been documenting her journey in and out of hospital to her 61,000 TikTok followers.
