Mohammed Patel 21, is the eighth and final defendant to give evidence at Leicester Crown Court after he was charged with the murders of Saqib Hussain and Hashim Ijazuddin. Patel denies the charge.
Giving evidence on Monday, Patel confirmed he went to co-accused Rekan Karwan's home, after being told there was "a situation". Once there, he put a wheel brace down his trousers. The prosecution have argued this was to intimidate or harm the deceased. Patel gave no explanation for carrying the item, reports Leicestershire Live.
Leonard Smith questioned why Patel did not refuse to place the wheel brace in his trousers. He said: "Why didn't you say no? You could have told [Raees] 'b******s, you put it down your trousers'."
Patel said he could have but could give no reason for why he did not question it.
The eight defendants are Natasha Akhtar, 22, Ansreen Bukhari, 45, Mahek Bukhari, 23, Raees Jamal, 22, Rekan Karwan, 28, Mohammed Patel, 21, Sanaf Gulamustafa, 22, and Ameer Jamal, 27. All deny murder.
Leicester Crown Court previously heard Mr Hussain, from Banbury, Oxfordshire, had repeatedly threatened to send explicit videos and images of Ansreen Bukhari to her husband after she broke off their three-year affair.
