He appeared opposite Zoe Kravitz in Hulu’s “High Fidelity” series and Helen Mirren in the HBO miniseries “Catherine the Great.” Doherty also led Sony’s 2022 vampire thriller “The Invitation” with Nathalie Emmanuel, and appeared in multiple episodes of the latest season of Tina Fey’s “Girls5Eva.” He’ll next be seen in Nicole Riegel’s “Dandelion,” which premiered at SXSW last month and will be released in theaters this summer. The film follows an aspiring singer-songwriter named Dandelion (KiKi Layne), who reluctantly takes a gig at a motorcycle rally that’s ways away from her hometown of Cincinnati.
At the event, she meets Casey (Doherty), a guitarist who walked away from his dream long ago. As Dandelion joins Casey’s electric and nomadic group of struggling musicians, the two kindred spirits make music together and strike up an intoxicating whirlwind romance that changes her artistic journey.
Doherty most recently wrapped production on Malik Vitthal’s next feature, “Family Secrets,” with Eric Dane, Maia Mitchell and Tyriq Withers. He is currently in production as a lead in the second season of “Tell Me Lies.” Doherty is a global ambassador for Dior and was featured on the cover of Variety‘s 2021 Power of Young Hollywood Issue, as well as being named as one of Screen Daily’s Stars of Tomorrow that same year.
