EXCLUSIVE: Indian actress Sayani Gupta has signed with Crimson Media and The SB Initiative for worldwide representation.
Gupta is known for roles such as in Prime Video series Four More Shots Please, the first series out of Indian with an all-female protagonist line-up. Dubbed ‘the desi Sex and the City‘ by Indian press, the show follows four young women in millennial Mumbai.
She also starred in Inside Edge, Prime Video’s first Hindi-language original. The cricket drama was released back in 2017 and starred the likes of Vivek Oberoi, Richa Chadha and Tanuj Virwani.
Early in her career, Gupta played a blind Pakistani-Bangladeshi student activist in Shonali Bose’s Margarita with a Straw, which premiered in Toronto in 2014 and won the NETPAC award for top Asian film at the fest.
She also won the Lion Award and was nominated for an International Indian Film Academy award for her role in Hindi-language socio-political drama Article 15, which is on Netflix. Another Netflix role in comedy Pagglait landed her a Filmfare OTT Awards nomination.
Other series include Zee5’s feature Posham Pa and Netflix social drama-comedy Axone. She has also appeared in ITV’s British drama Good Karma Hospital.
Gupta is currently producing and starring in international horror thriller Tongue, which is in the final stages of development with Create Entertainment and scheduled to shoot later this year. She is also set to play the title role in Suraiya, with producing likely to begin this year.
Gupta becomes the latest Bollywood star to sign with Crimson. In February, it added Trial By Fire star Rajshri Deshpande to its talent roster.
