This Morning viewers were left baffled today when music legend Peter Andre appeared on the show for the cooking segment. Peter, 50, shot to fame in the early 1990s when he released his hit song Mysterious Girl. He made his comeback to the spotlight in 2004 after appearing on ITV's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! where he met ex-wife Katie Price, they split in 2009.
Now nearly 20 years later and the dad-of-four has branched out his career with a string of unexpected moves - including a coffee shop chain and a ladies fragrance line. Today, he described himself as a "jack of all trades" when he made his first appearance in the kitchen of This Morning's studio in London. Surprised host Dermot O'Leary asked him: "So what are you doing here today?" Peter then told the hosts that he was making the "Kentucky Fine Chicken" - a healthy alternative to the fast-food chain takeaway KFC.
He then described his own eating habits, saying: "I've always been about balance, always. I went through my 20s where I was just watching everything I ate. I looked the way I wanted to look but I felt terrible.
I was always getting sick, everybody was constantly laughing at me because I was always getting sick and they were like so you look a certain way but you don't feel great. "Then I went through my 30s which was completely the opposite where I just completely rebelled. I ate everything, takeaways three times a day.
I'd wake up and have a takeaway leftover from the night before." As he cooked the chicken burger, he went on to say that he had tried "every single diet that was available", which just ended up "not being sustainable".
