An apparent "awkward" moment of tension between Phillip Schofield and Ruth Langsford was noticed by This Morning viewers. On Monday's edition of the show, Phil was joined by Josie Gibson, who was standing in for Holly Willoughby after she tested positive for Covid, when the show cut to a brief of what was coming up on Loose Women.The segment was hosted by 61 year old Ruth, whose husband Eamonn Holmes has a very rocky relationship with Phil. Phil kept his words to a minimum as he passed over to Ruth, and viewers noticed that he didn't say, "Thank you, Ruth" when the camera focused back on him.
"Not awkward at all Ruth and Phil," one person wrote. Another added: "We all know Phil and Ruth hate each other. No need for fake pleasantries." A third noted: "Not even a 'thank you, Ruth' from our Phil.

Last month, Eamonn gave an interview to Daily Mail's Weekend magazine, in which he claimed Phillip, 59, was "renowned for snubbing people", following reports of a feud between the This Morning host and his wife, Ruth. Ruth was rumoured to have filed an official complaint about Phillip and claimed he caused a "toxic" atmosphere on the show. And in 2019, Ruth was cut short by Phillip on This Morning when she was in the middle of presenting a trailer for Loose Women.
Before Ruth could finish what she was saying, Phillip, who has presented This Morning since 2002, cut in and said: "Guys, we are going to have to stop you. I am afraid because we are a bit tight for time." Eamonn, who has since left ITV and now presents on GB News, said of his former co-star: "Phillip is renowned for snubbing people. He's very passive-aggressive.
