The Traitors star Andrew Jenkins has opened up about being given a "second chance at life" following a devastating road accident which left him in a coma. The 45 year insurance broker spoke about the accident in Wednesday's (24 January) episode of The Traitors, saying he's been on a "huge journey" which has made him "determined" and "competitive".
Speaking to the camera, Andrew said: "I've been on a huge journey. I was given a second chance at life.

They said I was dead initially on the side of the road." Elaborating further on the aftermath of the accident, Andrew continued: "I was in a coma then for five weeks and then got told I had severe brain damage.
The injuries I had were horrific and I was told after my accident that I wouldn't walk ever again. And I told the doctor that I would walk again and I did it." As The Traitors final looms, Andrew added: "I'm not going to fail, I can't give up on anything.
So if somebody tells me I can't do something I am very determined and competitive. I strive to be the best I can and win." The 45 year old spoke about the severe road accident prior to The Traitors airing, revealing that his parents were told to "prepare for the worst" as doctors said he'd never walk or talk again, or even recognise his loved ones.
"My parents were told that if I did wake up, I’d never walk, talk or use my arms again and I may not recognise them.
They were told to prepare for the worst.
There's lots of things that happened to me, and the doctors call me a miracle patient," he said. Despite his injuries and doctor's predictions, Andrew appears to have fully recovered from the accident and last year had the opportunity to meet the man who saved
