To stop milk from going sour quickly, avoid storing it in a certain part of your fridge.
Milk usually goes off within seven days once opened, but you can keep it fresher for longer by storing it in the right place. If left out of the fridge, milk will go off in just two hours because bacteria grows faster when milk is exposed to heat.
The experts at magazine Food & Wine have warned that storing milk in a particular area of the fridge can make it sour quicker. Many people store their milk on the fridge door shelves because it's easy to reach - but this should be avoided, reports the Express.
Fridges are warmer at the front and temperatures change when the door opens and closes, so storing milk on the door's shelves makes it spoil faster. The best place to keep milk is in the back or on the lower shelf, the experts advise.
It's also important to store milk at the right temperature. Whether it's whole or skimmed milk, it should be kept around 2C (37F), which is usually the temperature at the back or bottom of the fridge. Like milk, other items should not be stored in the fridge doors.
Cream lasts longest in a cool spot in the fridge - so avoid the door. The door is for condiments, according to magazine. You can also freeze cream for longer storage, either in an ice cube tray or in a plastic container.

Squire still spends time with bassist Mani, who is “into” the two’s collaborative album and even gifted Squire the amplifier that he used during the recent run of live shows. In the discussion, he recalled seeing Mani and former frontman Ian Brown at the funeral of the former’s wife Imelda, who sadly died last November.
