Matthew Perry Pledges to Remove Controversial Keanu Reeves Comments From Future Memoir Editions: ‘I Said a Stupid Thing’

McKinley Franklin editor Matthew Perry has vowed to remove his controversial remarks about Keanu Reeves from future editions of his memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.” The “Friends” actor apologized after receiving backlash for writing about Reeves in his book, questioning why the actor “still walks among us” when “talented” actors and “original thinkers” like River Phoenix and Chris Farley had passed. Now, Perry is taking action by removing the references to Reeves. At the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books on Saturday, Perry revealed that all future editions of “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing” would omit Reeves’ name.

BGT fans unimpressed and accuse show of 'fix' after heartwarming mother-daughter audition

Fans of Britain's Got Talent were left unimpressed as they accused the show of a 'fix' after a heartwarming mother-daughter audition. On Saturday night's episode of the show, Claire Connelly made the ultimate sacrifice for her daughter, as she told the judges that she in fact was giving up her audition so her 15 year old daughter Tia could take her place instead. Claire said to BGT judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli: "She [her daughter] thinks it’s me who’s auditioning.

You see the full range of actors on the show. But I want to note that none of the show’s actors have ever been nominated for an Emmy, and they deserve it.” Four seasons into the groundbreaking HBO series, the creative minds and strategists hope to change that. In Search of ‘Bare Realism,’ The Dardenne Brothers Keep Turning Their Camera on Society’s Overlooked Members

Peter Debruge Chief Film Critic If I were to count on one hand the most preeminent humanist filmmakers of our time, the first two fingers would have to be dedicated to Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne. Bringing empathy and insight to stories of immigrants, outcasts and the working poor, the Belgian siblings have dedicated their career to observing characters Western society prefers to overlook. In that time, the brothers have screened every one of their 12 features at Cannes, collecting two Palme d’Or trophies — in 1999 for “Rosetta” and 2002 for “L’Enfant.” The Dardennes keep the prizes in the office they share at their Liège-based production company, Les Films du Fleuve. “They are in an armoire so the sight of them doesn’t weigh too heavily on our shoulders when we start working on a new film,” they tell Variety.

‘Bodyguard’ Musical Halted by ‘Mini-Riot,’ as Rowdy Theatergoers Loudly Singing Along With ‘I Will Always Love You’ Are Dragged Out

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic A touring production of the stage version of “The Bodyguard” was brought to a halt and canceled in Manchester, England on Friday night after patrons would not stop singing along with the musical’s songs, leading to house lights coming up during the climactic number “I Will Always Love You.” Two women were forcibly pulled out of the theater by security, and several police cars arrived to oversee the evacuation of the theater after what patrons on social media described as “fights in the aisles” and even “a mini-riot.” According to news reports out of Manchester and tweets from those inside the Palace Theatre, the show — based on the hit 1992 film — had already been temporarily halted once during the first act because of the disruptive audience sing-alongs, but was resumed. Later, though, with only about 10 minutes to go before the end, it was put on pause again while its star, Pussycat Dolls member Melody Thornton, attempted to sing the climactic song made famous in the movie by Whitney Houston, “I Will Always Love You,” over the sound of semi-tuneless howling coming from audience members. Thornton’s mic was cut mid-song, the house lights came up and offenders were evicted — struggling against being pulled out by their shoulders, in video footage captured by attendees — and the show was officially called off.
