Picture the scene: it’s a balmy summer’s evening and you’re sipping on a cocktail as you watch the sunset over the sea. It might be what you’d expect to be doing while on holiday in Spain or Greece, but in fact it’s exactly what you can do at Crosby beach this spring and summer.
The Bus Yard features a beachside bar housed within a double-decker bus. It initially began as a pop-up on Crosby Promenade but soon became a popular spot among locals and visitors.
It’s now back open for the summer 2024 season having secured a three-year agreement in 2022 with Sefton Council to operate for six months between April and September. With not one but two bank holidays coming up, there’s no better time to visit this beachside bar right on our doorstep.

There’s everything from coffee to cocktails on offer at the vibrant blue double-decker bus, located on Crosby Beach, Liverpool Echo reports. Customers can also enjoy live music and street food at the venue, including new additions to the menu such as a Philly steak baguette and Greek gyros.
Andy Laird, who operates The Bus Yard alongside business partners Anthony Smith and Darren Ryder, previously said the unique venue has become a "destination" for individuals, families, and dog walkers looking to enjoy a drink or a bite to eat by the sea. Andy commented: "It's reached another level, which is great. It's good to see we've created something from nothing. Before on the site there's nothing there and now there's a full venue, a full house.
"The vibe up there is absolutely amazing. People like it; it's like being abroad at home."
