Supermarket chain Tesco is urging all of its 20 million Clubcard holders to mark June 14 in their diaries, as, from this date, a popular feature is changing. The change to the Clubcard points system will affect anybody who uses the loyalty scheme, and will mean people are getting less for their money.
As it stands, shoppers can triple the value of their Clubcard points when they exchange them to use with a “Reward Partner”. But in three months, things will alter.
From June 14, Tesco shoppers will only be able to double their points - meaning Clubcard holders will get less for their money. The supermarket currently has over 100 “Reward Partners” such as brands like Thorpe Park, Hotels.com and Pizza Express.

Other big names that are signed up include Disney+ and Legoland. Clubcard holders can still redeem their points for triple their value with a “Reward Partner” before June 14 - so make sure you put this date in your diary.

Clubcard holders earn one point for each £1 they spend in stores at Tesco, so 150 points gets you a £1.50 voucher. If you purchase fuel from a Tesco forecourt, you’ll get one point for every £2 you spend.

It is free to sign up to the Clubcard scheme, which has roughly 20 million members. A

Ethan Shanfeld As Nintendo takes its shot at the box office with “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” the first animated film featuring the iconic mustachioed plumber, the gaming company has been coy about revealing what’s next for the Super Mario video game franchise. But while Shigeru Miyamoto — the legendary video game designer, Nintendo fellow and self-proclaimed “Mario’s mom” — won’t say where Mario is running next, he is forthright about where he won’t be: your smartphone. Sitting down with Variety for this week’s cover story on the making of the film, Miyamoto said firmly, “Mobile apps will not be the primary path of future Mario games.” After two moderately successful but dwindling iOS games, plus another that shuttered after two years, Nintendo is pulling Mario away from the mobile market. Released in 2016, Super Mario Run grossed $60 million in its first year, while 2019’s Mario Kart Tour has generated $300 million (compared to Mario Kart 8’s $3 billion and counting). Without explanation, Nintendo removed 2019’s Dr. Mario World from app markets two years after its release.

Murtada Elfadl Making a rom-com that cuts through the clutter these days can be a tall order. Once a regular date-night megaplex staple, most seem to wind up buried on streaming platforms, easily lost soon after their release. So it’s welcome when a filmmaker comes at the genre with admiration, reverence and ideas about how to make it appealing to a modern audience. In “Molli and Max in the Future,” writer-director Michael Lukk Litwak works from familiar incredients in crafting his story of two mismatched lovers who bicker and feud on their way to realizing that they were meant for each other. There’s fast-talking repartee, witty dialogue and fantastic chemistry between his leads Zosia Mamet and Aristotle Athar. It’s in what he chooses to surround his lead characters with, that he foibles the surefire setup.
