A teenage killer jailed for life after stabbing his close friend to death in a row over a minor drug debt has lost a bid to appeal against his conviction and sentence. Maciej Mikolajczyk, then 17, stabbed Alan Szelugowski 20 times before taking his mobile phone and leaving him to bleed to death in a park in Salford.

Carrying 'at least one knife' they arrived at the park in a stolen BMW. They then 'set upon' Alan in the dark in a vicious attack which lasted around 10 minutes.
