‘Succession’ Creator Jesse Armstrong To Receive International Emmys’ Founders Award

With the SAG strike behind us, the all-important film festivals that occur right in the heart of awards season are starting to take shape. A key stop is always the Palm Springs International Film Festival gala, which has just announced its first award, the Vanguard, which goes to a film’s director as well as its ensemble cast. It is probably no surprise that Apple Original Films and Paramount’s epic western drama, Killers of the Flower Moon.

Caroline Brew editor The Palm Springs International Film Awards announced that “Killers of the Flower Moon” will receive the Vanguard Award, which honors a film’s cast and director for their collective work on an exceptional film project. Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone will be presented with the award at the gala ceremony, which takes place Jan.

GLAAD, the world’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer media advocacy organization, will be honored with the 2023 Governors Award, the Television Academy announced today. The organization will be recognized for its work over nearly four decades to secure fair, accurate and diverse representation of the LGBTQ community in the media and entertainment industries and to advocate for LGBTQ equality. GLAAD’s President and CEO, Sarah Kate Ellis, will accept the award during the Jan. 15 Emmy Awards telecast on Fox.

The family of the late S Club 7 star Paul Cattermole, were deeply touched by a kind act from his former bandmates after they bought back Paul's BRIT Award to give it back to his family. Paul sadly passed away in April at the age of 46 due to heart failure.This happened just weeks after the band announced they were getting back together for a tour. Paul had shared how thrilled he was to be back in the limelight, especially after facing financial difficulties.

Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter Taylor Swift’s movie is presiding over Martin Scorsese’s in North American theaters, but the “Mean Streets” director has outstripped the “Mean” singer at the international box office. Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon,” a crime epic starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, has generated $21 million from 63 overseas markets. In terms of weekend ticket sales, it’s pacing ahead of Swift’s “The Eras Tour,” which added $10.5 million in its second weekend of release.

Jess Wright has shared a string of sweet pictures of her one year old son Presley as she met with brother Mark for a lunch date.Taking to Instagram, Jess posted an array of snaps of the pair smiling for the camera and snuggling close. She captioned the post: “Weekends." Presley, who Jess gave birth to early last year and shares with husband William Lee-Kemp, was dressed in a knitted jumper, beige trousers, and some grey and white patterned trainers. Angelique Jackson The rise of the Adidas empire is getting the limited series treatment after independent film producer Niels Juul (“Ferrari,” “Killers of the Flower Moon”) inked a deal with the family of the brand’s founder, Adi Dassler. Juul’s No Fat Ego Productions and AD Legacy, the company set up by the Dassler’s grandchildren, have entered into a partnership to produce a fictional limited series based on Dassler’s life and the global brand he created from his small German village.
