Strictly Come Dancing star Robin Windsor's funeral was held on Tuesday in Ipswich following his heartbreaking death last month. The beloved professional dancer was found dead in a hotel room in London in February at the age of 44, just days after he returned from a dream holiday to South Africa.
The tragic news sparked an outpour of grief from his Strictly co-stars and celebrity friends from throughout the years. Now, one month on from the heartbreaking news of his death, Robin's family released a statement sharing plans for his burial on Sunday, reports the Mirror.
They confirmed the late star would be laid to rest on Easter Sunday in a private funeral, which a celebration of his life will follow. The star's family also thanked fans for sharing their love and memories of Robin in the weeks following his death.
They said in the statement: "On Tuesday 26th March we will lay our beloved Robin to rest in his home town of Ipswich. The funeral will be a private service for invited family, friends and colleagues who were important to Robin in both his personal life and professional career.
"At a future date we welcome the opportunity for an invite only celebration of his life. In the meantime we once again thank everyone for the love and the memories shared of Robin."
On Tuesday, friends of the dancer, including Susanna Reid, Anton Du Beke, Robin's ex-dance partner Anna Kennedy, Karen Clifton, AJ and his wife, Lisa Riley and Deborah Meaden joined Robin's family and loved ones to mark their respects.
It is believed Robin's family requested attendees wear colour to celebrate his colourful life, as in images obtained by the Mirror, celebrities including Susanna were snapped arriving at the church wearing loud and daring colours.
