The upcoming Disney Plus series, Star Wars: The Acolyte is said to have more Jedi than any other film or show. The Jedi are arguably the most noticeable characters in all of fiction. Even non-Star Wars fans know what a Jedi is.
Leslye Headland, The Acolyte’s showrunner, is priding herself on her show’s vast amount of characters. What kind of crazy species will we see in Jedi robes? In a recent interview, Headland explained that her show follows the classic Star Wars formula. A group of characters fighting against one big “bad” organization.
Whereas the original trilogy had the Rebels fighting the Evil Galactic Empire. This time around, the emerging Sith Lords will be fighting the Jedi Order.“What makes this show different and interesting is it’s from the perspective of the bad guys or the villains of Star Wars,” Headland said. “These are people who are using the Force in their own way, dipping into the darker sides of the Force, and are doing it without being sanctioned by the larger institution which in this case is the Jedi. “I think Star Wars is always about some version of the underdog versus the institution, and I just thought it was very interesting to do a show about the bad guys,” she added.
“It’s almost flipped. We have more Jedi than you’ve seen in any of the Star Wars content, but at the same time, I think you see more morally ambiguous characters.” as reported by IGN.com.The Acolyte was announced in May 2020. It will follow a young force user in the High Republic Era.
The High Republic Era ends about 100 years before the events of Episode 1, The Phantom Menace. It is an untouched time in Star Wars canon. It will be very interesting to see how Disney will do with all new characters and all new

In a recent interview, John Boyega, most recently known for his role as Finn in the Star Wars movies, opened up about a possible return. His recent words about the franchise come years after he spoke out about how Disney treats black characters in their projects. Boyega accused Disney of using diverse casting to bring in viewers and then pushing those characters to the side after they have made their quick buck. “That was a few years ago, so they were the subject of that particular project,” Boyega recently told TechRadar, in an interview that was conducted before the actors strike.
Zack Sharf Digital News Director John Boyega was asked by “Hot Ones” to rank the films in his “Star Wars” trilogy, which kicked off on a high note in 2015 with the beloved “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and then got polarizing with 2017’s “The Last Jedi” and 2019’s “The Rise of Skywalker.” “Star Wars: The Force Awakens is most definitely the best,” Boyega answered “Second, for me, comes [‘The Rise of Skywalker’]. The worst – in the most respectful sense – is [‘The Last Jedi’]. But they’re all lovely.” Boyega cracked a smile and gave some side eye, alluding to the fact that many “Star Wars” fans already know Boyega’s grievances with the space franchise. He notably told GQ magazine in 2020, “What I would say to Disney is do not bring out a Black character, market them to be much more important in the franchise than they are and then have them pushed to the side. It’s not good. I’ll say it straight up.”
A few years back, John Boyega wasn’t afraid to voice his criticisms about his character Finn faded into the background in “The Last Jedi” and “The Rise Of Skywalker.” But Deadline reports that the actress has since changed his tune, and he’s open to a return to the “Star Wars” universe if the right project comes along. Marc Malkin Senior Film Awards, Events & Lifestyle Editor Bethenny Frankel says reality stars should take a page out of the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes and unionize. She says she believes reality stars should be earning residual-like payments when their series become hits and are replayed by networks and streamers across multiple platforms. Frankel shot to fame on the original “Real Housewives of New York.” She says she was paid $7,250 for the first season, but has never received any compensation based on the show’s massive success. She has a starred in a variety of reality series since “RHONY,” including “Bethenny Getting Married,” “Bethenny and Frederick” and “Bethenny Every After.”
Star Wars Outlaws is largely influenced by the practicalities of movie-making in the 1970s, as well as the series’ iconic “visual language of reduction”.Revealed in the Xbox Games Showcase last month, Star Wars Outlaws is “set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi”. Not only are the narrative and characters rooted in the original movie trilogy, but the creative director Julian Gerighty has said that everything that the player sees in the game will feel like it’s been lifted from one of the sets.In an interview with EDGE Magazine, Gerighty shared that Ubisoft Massive took the time to develop technology that “emulates some of the lenses of the ’70s” to create a grainy and gritty Star Wars game.“So you have the vignetting, film grain, lens breathing, the curvature of a thicker lens, the slight lens flares – all of these things that are very subtle, but come together to give you a more cinematic experience,” explained Gerighty.Expectedly, these effects are likely to be optional so that players are able to switch settings.
Filmmaker James Mangold’s “Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny” is in theaters now, and while it seemed to underwhelm at the global box office in its opening weekend, the film has grossed $305 million worldwide so far, so maybe there’s hope it can have some minor legs. If anything, it maybe shows how making a blockbuster with an 80-year-old star can only take you so far with audiences.
What would a “Star Wars” film or TV show look like if everything was peaceful and there was no actual war to speak of? That’s the question that apparently caused quite a bit of discussion during the development of the upcoming “Star Wars” series, “The Acolyte.” In a new interview with EW, showrunner Leslye Headland explained how “The Acolyte” fits in the grand timeline of “Star Wars” stories.
Star Wars’ Lando Calrissian show starring Donald Glover will not be happening anytime soon it seems. Even the writers are saying that they have “no clue” what is going on. The last update that writer Justin Simien got about the show was in the year 2020.

Thrawn is seemingly the main antagonist in the upcoming Ahsoka Tano spin-off series. Grand Admiral Thrawn was also one of the “big bads” in the hit animated show Star Wars Rebels. It was announced in April at this year’s Star Wars Celebration that Lars Mikkelsen would reprise his role as the Star Wars villain.
The Sith, the ancient enemy of the Jedi order in Star Wars. The Sith are easily recognizable. They wield a bright red lightsaber, wear black robes, and most have dark yellow eyes.
Alison Herman TV Critic For a few years in the 2010s, TV was seen as a refuge from the intellectual property boom engulfing blockbuster filmmaking. Original, mid-budget stories aimed at adults were no longer welcome at the multiplex, but they could often find a home in a prestige-hungry medium newly attractive to A-list talent. Beginning with the launch of the streaming service Disney+ in 2019, however, “cinematic” universes like Star Wars and Marvel established a presence on the small screen, while the conclusion of “Game of Thrones” that same year kicked off the arms race for the next crossover genre hit. The Primetime Emmy Awards have acknowledged this trend in the past. “WandaVision,” “The Mandalorian,” and “The Boys” all earned series nominations in prior years, affording artistic legitimacy to these franchises in addition to their popular success. (The first two series were the small screen debuts of Marvel and Star Wars, respectively; “The Boys” is a superhero satire that is itself adapted from a comic book, with a budget and fandom to match that of its targets.) But for its 75th annual honors, the Television Academy fully embraced the IP extravaganza that’s enveloped the rest of culture. TV is no longer a refuge from the prevailing winds, but a channel for them.
