Candace Cameron Bure is addressing claims that she attempted to get the first queer character on removed from the show.On Thursday, Miss Benny posted a video to TikTok in which she claimed that she was told «one of the Tanner sisters» wanted to have her role axed back when she was playing Casey during the show's fourth season.«I was on, I played Casey, the first gay character on the franchise,» Miss Benny shared in her post. «One of the Tanner sisters is very publicly 'not for the girls' if that makes sense? [And] I remember I got sat down by the writers and the studio to basically warn me how this person, allegedly, was trying to get the character removed and not have a queer character on the show.»Miss Benny — who never used Bure's name directly in her video — went on to claim, «I was also sort of warned and prepared that this person's fan base might be encouraged to target me specifically.»«So, to this day — despite working on the show every day for two weeks straight — I have only had a conversation with one of the Tanner sisters,» Miss Benny claimed.In response to her TikTok post, Bure released a statement to ET denying that she ever attempted to get the role axed.«I never asked Miss Benny’s character to be removed from  and did not ask the writers, producers or studio executives to have queer characters on the show,» Bure shared in her statement.

The most likely answer: She’d probably be almost as big, even without the Taylor Sheridan factor. After all, it’s not a TV show that came up with the combination of country-rock singing chops, irresistible Louisiana accent and gosh-dang gung-ho that have captivated listeners to the point that, in short succession, she’s racked up four No. 1 Mediabase radio singles and been one of the leading winners at the CMA and ACM awards shows.

At long last, a sequel to the universally beloved “Paddington 2” is on the way. And Deadline has the scoop on some of the new faces moviegoers should expect in the upcoming film.  Olivia Colman leads the recently announced newcomers, with Rachel Zegler, Antonio Banderas, and Emily Mortimer also joining the cast.

Set to start filming on July, the third installment film will also star Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Madeleine Harris and Samuel Joslin. Ben Whishaw and Imelda Staunton will also be back as the voices of Paddington and Aunt Lucy, respectively. Filming locations will include the UK, Peru and Colombia. The movie will mark the feature film directorial debut of Dougal Wilson, and reteams Studiocanal with Heyday Films following their collaboration on the first two films of the Paddington franchise. Studiocanal is fully financing and will distribute in the UK, France, Germany, Benelux, Poland, Australia and New Zealand as well as through partners in China and Japan. Sony Pictures will distribute in the USA, Canada and other key international territories including Latin America.

Alison Herman TV Critic The hit British film “The Full Monty” — for a brief period in 1997, the most lucrative release in U.K. history — was, in some ways, the original “Magic Mike.” The comedy chronicled six unemployed ex-steelworkers in post-Thatcher North England as they formed a stripping troupe. (The name referred to the strippers’ willingness to bare all, genitalia included.) By treating sex work as a symbol of larger economic malaise, “The Full Monty” anticipated the approach Steven Soderbergh would take stateside over two decades later.  “Magic Mike” has since ballooned into a full-blown phenomenon spanning a trilogy of films, a reality show and a globally successful stage revue. “The Full Monty” has, until now, resisted such expansion. (There have been a handful of stage adaptations, though nothing on the scale of “Magic Mike Live.”) But on June 14, FX will stream all eight episodes of a TV sequel, also called “The Full Monty,” on Hulu. The show carries the same set of core characters a quarter century into the future — minus the nudity, but retaining the same bittersweet mix of working class social realism and irreverent humor to take the edge off. Even affable British indies, it would seem, are not immune from the modern IP boom.
