That’s a $7.56 million cume for the Bollywood action thriller including Thursday shows.  

Jawan, a Hindi action thriller with Bollywood royalty Shah Rukh Khan set opening day records in India that are echoing Stateside. The Yas Raj Films release grossed more than $1.36 million in Thursday previews at 827 locations, meaning it was the no. 2 movie across North America behind wide release The Equalizer 3 with Denzel Washington.

Shah Rukh Khan has outdone himself. After a record-breaking run with Pathaan in January, the Indian superstar has hit new milestones with his latest, Jawan, which scored the biggest ever opening day worldwide for a Hindi film on Thursday at 129.6 crore ($15.5M).
