He said: "McTominay I think is a bit out the wage bracket. I think he is a good player and I think he has been terrific for Scotland. I just think wages, too far."
Former Celtic defender Mark Wilson was asked if there is a fee Celtic would have taken right now, and he believes it would be a matter of Rodgers being undermined were the midfielder to go. He said: "There are still competitions to win here.
"Brendan Rodgers' remit is win silverware and progress in Europe. If you are taking the players out from under his feet halfway through a campaign then you are undermining the manager.
"I don't think there was a chance of him being sold in January if the manager says he still wanted him here. That is different if the manager sanctions it. I don't think there is a chance of Brendan Rodgers thinking that way. He will want to keep
