Scottish TV presenter Storm Huntley, 36, has been tipped as a 'front runner' to replace Holly Willoughby on This Morning following her shock announcement last week that she was stepping down from the flagship ITV programme after 14 years.
Holly, 42, was at the helm of the breakfast show alongside co-host Phillip Schofield until his exit from the show earlier this year after admitting to an "unwise but legal" affair with a younger male colleague and lied about it to show bosses.
The 42-year-old admitted she made the "heartbreaking" decision in a statement posted on social media to put herself and her family first as is expected to take a break from presenting despite being lined up for a 'golden opportunity' with the BBC.
Since her departure, there has been mounting speculation who could replace her with Storm in the running lead. The Glasgow-born presenter has since responded on Instagram to the mounting speculations.
The Jeremy Vine show host said: "Very flattering but I think there may be a scheduling issue there," alongside a tongue-sticking out emoji which could hint she is not willing to leave her job behind at Channel 5.
Meanwhile, Bake Off host Alison Hammond and Good Morning Britain star Ben Shephard have also been rumoured to be high in the pecking order to take her place.
"Storm Huntley is fast rising up the bookies odds to make the jump over to ITV's This Morning," PR guru Andy Barr told The Sun.
"Whilst all the speculation so far pits the job competition being between her and the ever-charismatic Alison Hammond, I do wonder if ITV is going to take the opportunity to give the format a complete makeover and lead with two female presenters to run the show. And why not?
