A Scots man lost his brother to pancreatic cancer just months after his mum died from the same disease.
David Fitzpatrick's family, from Glasgow, were left in shock when his brother Paul was diagnosed with the condition when they were still left grieving for their mum Patricia, who had died 15 months before.
Tragically, Paul died within a month of being given the news. The heartbreak has made David dedicate his life to raising awareness of pancreatic cancer and its devastating nature.
He told Glasgow Live : "Our family has lost two special people to this illness, both our beloved mum and brother who was a loving father and husband. The family has raised over £40,000 in their memory while working with Pancreatic Cancer Action. David recently raised £8,285 at his golf fundraiser on the grounds of Cowglen Golf Club, with nearly 80 people participating in the annual event that included a raffle and auction.
He added: "Our family, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, Paul's daughters, our friends, Nitshill Bowling Club, and former players and coaches of Bellarmine Amateurs are truly inspiring in their assistance and encouragement to raise funds in memory of both mum and Paul. They have all helped raise awareness of pancreatic cancer and
