Police Scotland said the incident, which happened at a footbridge at Castlepark Cricle in Irvine, took place at about 4.50pm.
And Irvine Locality Policing Team would like to hear from anyone with dashcam footage which capturing the incident, or anyone else who may know anything about the incident.
