A Salford teenager has been found convicted of killing a 14-year-old schoolboy in a revenge stabbing.
Carlos Neto was found guilty of the manslaughter of Gordon Gault during a tit-for-tat feud between two groups in the West End of Newcastle.
The 18-year-old, of Manchester Road East, Little Hulton, was cleared of murder alongside five other teens, Chronicle Live reports. Neto, who delivered the fatal blow, and Lawson Natty, 18, were convicted of manslaughter. They and four others - Benedict Mbala, Daniel Lacerda, a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old - were found not guilty of murder.

All six were also cleared of wounding with intent on another teen during the incident in Elswick, Newcastle, but Neto and Natty were found guilty of unlawful wounding of him. The pair will be sentenced in March.
Jurors at Newcastle Crown Court were told Gordon was stabbed in the area of Elswick Park on November 9 2022 and died on November 15. Prosecutor Jonathan Sandiford KC told jurors during the trial it was part of an "ongoing violent feud".
On the evening of November 9 2022, Gordon and his friends became aware of the presence of some of the other group in Elswick and Gordon was seen to get a metal baseball bat from bushes and he and others were wearing blue latex gloves.
At 6.14pm, Gordon's group split into three and began to move into and around the park in an attempt to engage the defendants. Gordon was a passenger on an electric bike ridden by someone else.
