Manchester City star Rodri has opened up on his plans for when he hangs up his boots.
Rodri was initially rejected as not big enough to play football but has blossomed into a Premier League giant. But it's not always been that way.
The midfielder was let go early in his playing career for being 'too weak' and says he has increased his weight by 10 kilos to meet the physical demands of English football since joining Manchester City in 2019.
At 27, Rodri has one eye on the future and says he considers himself better suited as a sporting director than manager and has gained a degree in Management and Business Administration alongside trophies he's won over five years at Etihad.

"It's not just about the future and what I'm going to do after football, it's also about having knowledge and being different from the typical footballer," commented Rodri. "Football sometimes is so demanding, so stressful and if you are 24 hours thinking football then I don't think it's healthy and it helped me a lot."
As a deep thinker about football, his idols include Zinedine Zidane and he has learned much from Sergio Busquets and Xabi Alonso.
Rodri shared: "I'm a player who tries to understand football. It's one of the best things I have is the way I understand football and when I watch a game, I don't really pay attention on the ball, I pay attention on what's going on around the pitch. For a midfielder, I think that's key.
