Gary Lineker has claimed that Jadon Sancho's Euro 2020 heartache with England could have played a part in his disastrous career at Manchester United.
The winger left United in January on loan to return to Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season. Having been frozen out by Erik ten Hag, Sancho's long-term future at Old Trafford continues to remain unclear.
Sancho had not played a single minute of football at United since August with his last appearance coming in the 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest on August 26. A public spat with Ten Hag came after the defeat to Arsenal which saw the forward hit back at the Dutchman after his criticism of the 23-year-old's training performances.

Since moving back to Germany, Sancho has assisted two goals for Dortmund in four appearances. It's unclear whether he will move permanently or return to United, with crunch talks expected to take place in the summer.
The £73million fee paid for Sancho in 2021 has, so far, proved to be bad business by the Reds. However, Lineker has sparked a fresh theory on why the England international has struggled to live up to his potential.
On Sunday, Bukayo Saka became the youngest Arsenal player to reach 50 goals for the club. The forward is one of the Gunners' most important players and, unlike Sancho, has reached the stardom predicted in recent years.
Saka is also set to be a star player for England in Euro 2024 for Gareth Southgate, three years after missing the crucial penalty against Italy in the 2020 final at Wembley.
